While I like both J-Lo and steven, its time to start judging singing talent. Its time to stop loving all the contestants. they don't all nail it every night and you can love they all every night.

Lauren, Casey, Jacob, James and Scotty are already stars and wil be for a long time to come. The judges are awesome. All very talented and they do not need to be mean because 2011 is the best season ever.
Everyone says they hated Simon and now they miss his meanness. Simon was not mean he was plain cruel.
One point that hasn’t been mentioned is that this set of judges has selected some amazingly talented contestants! I think there are at least 5 that would have taken first place last season – a season I could not bear to watch due to the lack of talent. I like both Steven and JLo much more than I expected as judges as well. Props to them for spotting real vocal ability!
Bring back Simon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All of the gushing and loving everything is so unrealistic. They are NOT ALL great and most of the time they are just ok so the judges really need to stop with the phoniness and be honest. Other than possibly two of the idols they will head off into oblivion like the rest of the contestants from years past.. just stop it already!

I was a Huge fan of Stephens when the season began but right now he almost looks annoyed by the show.. his facial expressions make you think he's going to say "F*ck this Sh*t" when they give him the mic, but he gives high praise without any suggestions.. it's weird, it's like we don't even need the input now. I wish he'd be excited more and smile like he did during the opening shows, he's feels depressing now.
Hummmm, Well Randy needs to step up to the plate and take over where Simon left off, but in a cordial way. J Lo, well she is just frkin hot,, and has viable content to offer, Steven Tyler has been the surprise though,,, he still needs some experience being a judge, and I'm not sure he'll want to come back, but I think hes great. Hes a true veteran rocker, he probably has a ton of knowledge more than he lets on, and if anybody can guide a few careers based on just musical talent, its him. I did not used to like him, but wow, he has a brain and can still sing and entertain with any top 10 performer.. Anyway, thanks to all the judges,, I think their doing great this year..
I was hoping Steven Tyler would be funny and irreverent and honest with the criticism, like Simon (or Simon on drugs). Lopez rants on and on like Paula (or Paula WITHOUT her drugs). They can't all win, and frankly I'm sick of hearing them squee over some kid with a so-so voice who can't remember the lyrics.
I think the judges are trying not to hurt the contestants feelings like Simon used to do every single night, I don't believe putting down a kid the way Simon did was right, those kids are just starting their dreams and of course every everybody knows they won't be perfect and you need to encourage them and why not express to them a constructive criticism, not telling them they are forgetable like Simon did a lot of times. I'm glad he is gone and I like the judges this year, good move American Idol!!
If Scotty doesn't come out on top it will be a shame but he will soon be reigning as a Country Star. All the judges are being fair to everyone but over- praising Casey for being a true musician is beside the point. His voice grates on my ears and his singing falls way below some of the others. Having said that I simply can't vote for any of the remaining nine as they are all so good. Scotty is already a finished entertainer. He does not need American Idol to succeed. I am not a proponent of Country Music unless the person performing is perfect.
I agree Scotty has the talent to succeed in country music without American Idol. He doesn't need to worry about being voted out; as long as he doesn't give up, his singing career is a sure thing. Pia also has the voice to make it without A.I. She already has a pretty good fan base.
Their both great but I especially like Steven T. I wish though he would be the bad boy he was at the beginning of this season's Idol. Did someone tell him to shutup? Mistake!
I agree that this is the first season that I've seen such a diversity of different talents. However, the judges need to be more critical of the performers. Not necessarily like Cowel but with Pia leaving, I wonder how the judges feel about using their one save on Casey, and what criticism they might have given the lesser talents in the show that might have led the voters to vote for Pia.
This is the first season that I have seen such a diversity of different talents and I believe the judges were great in picking their top favorites for the show. However, I hear very little criticism coming from the judges now that America is voting. Perhaps if the judges had been a little more critical, Pia would still be on the show. I wonder how they feel now, about using their one save on Casey , so early in the season. I find it hard to believe the American Public Liked the other female contestants better!!!!! What a shame
AT the beginning of this season, Steven was hysterical! What happened? Did someone tell him to tone it down because if they did, it's making the show boring again. Let Steven be Steven!
Now we see what happens when the judges "love" everyone, the good singers leave early. If Simon was here he would be tough but honest with those that should not be there. Curious what this vote would be today.
Out of the three, J Lo and Randy provide the most constructive criticism. It seems to me that Steven just goes along with the program and really has no tangible criticism of his own. That's obvious!
I like them both. I think they are honest and provide good constructive criticism, but not brutal. Why do people want someone to be "brutal"? These are the final contestants out of thousands! They are all good at this point. Sometimes it's just whether you like the style of music, not that the singer made vocal mistakes.
